The Gamo Rocket Destroyer lead is a projectile designed and made to combine piercing power and expansion.

The perforation is made possible by a round steel head covered with copper, in the manner of the warheads of armored ammunition (also called FMJ for Full Metal Jacket). This coating increases both the hardness of the projectile, but also its speed thanks to improved air penetration.

The expansion occurs as a result of the perforation thanks to a hollow lead body. At the moment of impact, the lead edges are crushed, which has the effect of increasing the diameter of the projectile and therefore its contact surface with the target.
