Description

The pointed pellet is the ideal hunting pellet, designed for stable flight, longer distances, accuracy and achieving extra penetration due to its pointed head. It’s therefore unsurprising that many considered as the best choice for the serious air rifle hunter.
Customers find the air gun projectiles a good value for money. They are accurate for target shooting and consistent. Many consider them effective for target practice. However, opinions differ on the pellet quality and fit.
Similar to a BB gun, a pellet gun is a device designed to shoot a non-spherical projectile known as a “pellet.” Whereas BBs are spherical, pellets usually are conical with a flattened tip or a pointed tip. Typically pellets have more of an hourglass shape to them. They are usually, .177, .20 Caliber.
A: Generally speaking, domed pellets are more accurate than pointed pellets due to being more aerodynamic. As air passes around the spherical shape of the projectile, it creates less drag which allows it to maintain its speed and consistency over longer distances.
The best pellets are dry with a lower moisture quality as they produce more heat. You’ll want them to contain less than 5% moisture and never more than 8%. Additionally, they must have low organic ash content.

A pellet is a non-spherical projectile designed to be fired from an air gun. Air gun pellets differ from bullets and shot used in firearms because of the pressures encountered: airguns operate at pressures as low as 50 atmospheres while firearms operate at thousands of atmospheres. Air guns generally use a slightly undersized projectile that is designed to obturate upon shooting so as to seal the bore, and engage the rifling firearms have sufficient pressure to force a slightly oversized bullet to fit the bore in order to form a tight seal. Since pellets may be shot through a smoothbore barrel, they are often designed to be inherently stable, much like the foster slugs used in smoothbore shotguns
